The Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) is set to come alive on Friday 30th July 2010 at 8:00pm to showcase the 49th production of the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show. However with the unprecedented title of being the longest running pageant in the Caribbean region, many persons may not know that the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show is not just a pageant – but actually a fundraiser project of JCI Antigua to support its ongoing list of meaningful community development projects. Just to highlight, some of the community projects that JCI Antigua has executed in recent times are:

• “Ray of Hope” Cancer Awareness Campaign (2009) – which provided a series of informative seminars and a fundraiser concert to sensitize the public on how to better address the dangers, preventative measures and how to cope, living with the many forms of cancer, a disease plaguing our society
• “Business Seminar” – Customer Service (2010) – which provided training to businesses to increase their ability to deliver excellent customer service to their internal and external customers.
• “YEP – Youth Empowerment Program” (2009) – which provided youths in society the opportunity to develop and express themselves via written mediums and public speaking competitions
• “GAP – Green Awareness Program” (2009) – which provided the general public on the ways, need and advantages of moving towards a better, more environmentally conscious way of life, towards a greener & cleaner future
• “Drive Responsibly” campaign (2010) – which is geared at educating motorists to drive more safely by staying focus on the road and avoid being distracted to prevent the increasing number of accidents and fatalities on the roadways of Antigua and Barbuda.
