Under the theme “Resurrecting the Bu-yard Roots and Culture for 2012,” Caribana is scheduled for May 20– 28, giving Barbudans more days to enjoy calypso, soca, and seaside fun and jamming. Bu-yard is the colloquial term for Barbudans.
Kiwanis’ Book Donation & Sales Project

weekend to off-load a 40ft container filled with 35,000 books packed
in 1,300 boxes. Most of the books will be donated to various schools
and institutions across the island over the upcoming weeks. A small
fraction, however, will be reserved and made available for sale to the
general public. Proceeds from the book sales will go towards funding
of ongoing community projects, specifically geared to the benefit of
our nations children. This is in keeping with our motto “Serving the
Children of the World”.
