EAG participates in Caribbean Environmental radio Programme

Antigua is one of nine islands that will be a part of a Caribbean workshop called My Island - My Community. The EAG (Environmental Awareness Group) is represented by Carol-Faye George, manager of ABWREC & EAG Director and Kadeem Joseph, Junior Prime Minister and A level student. The other countries that are participating will be Anguilla, Montserrat, Dominica. British Virgin Islands, Grenada, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

The project/workshop will develop A regional radio drama that will weave together relevant information on climate change with a compelling story. Presented through 200 episodes, the programme seeks to (1) develop capacity of CBO/NGO to effectively engage in "communication" for CBA (2) buils a well informed, engaged community and (3) change knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of key target audiences.

My Island - My Community is a partnership of Media Impact, the secretariat of the OECS, The Natue Conservancy, GEF Small Grans Programme, Global Island Partnership, the Secretariat for the Convention on Biological Diversity, BirdLife International, Dirrell, SeaWeb and the St. Lucia Folk Research Centre.
