St. John’s, Antigua March 04, 2012 – Friends of Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (FoMSJMC) officially handed-over a new electrocardiogram (ECG) machine to the MSJMC Outpatient Clinic. The cost of the equipment was over $12,000.

Antigua’s First PARTY in pink Zumbathon & Fundraiser a Success

St. John’s, Antigua, October 21, 2011 – More than one hundred participants turned out for the MSJMC Zumbathon and fundraiser held on Thursday. The event rose over $2500 for the Breast Friends organization through donations, surpassing the event organizers goal of $2000.

All participants were automatically entered into a raffle with prizes from Xtreme Health & Fitness and Bike Plus; participants were also treated to goodie bags.

Friends of MSJMC and the Antigua & Barbuda Renal Society Donates a Dialysis Machine to the Hospital

The Friends of MSJMC and the Antigua & Barbuda Renal Society has donated a dialysis machine to the MSJMC Dialysis Unit . The official handover made by the Presidents of both organizations, Dwayna Derrick (Friends of MSJMC) and Constance Moe (A&B Renal Society) took place yesterday at the hospital.

The equipment, worth over twenty-five thousand US dollars, now brings to twelve (12) the number of dialysis machines at the facility.

September 25 to October 01, 2011 is Pesticide Awareness Week, and throughout that period the Pesticides & Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB) will be engaging in a series of activities under the theme “Save lives!-Read and Understand Pesticide Labels”.

Chairman of the Pesticide and Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB), Dr. Malverne Spencer said, the week is being planned to heighten awareness of the need for the safe use and improved management of pesticides and other toxic chemicals.
