Antiguan promotes new wave of wellness in Caribbean

Ted Emanuel, a world renowned Antiguan naturopathic physician, has partnered with an international company to usher a new wave of wellness into the Caribbean.

The company Emanuel has engaged its Diamond Tree Corporation, which offers a wide range of natural products. Some of Diamond Tree’s products were engineered by the macrobiotic master Michio Kushi.

Kushi, who has been nominated for a Nobel Prize in Health and received honours from the United Nations, was the creator of the company’s flagship merchandise Fermena — a compound that comprises 50 whole foods.

March for Sight receives excellent support

St. John’s, Antigua (15 February 2009) – “Why Me?”, The Antigua & Barbuda Cancer Society held a fundraiser Friday night at the Half Moon Bay home of Bruce and Barbara Bauer featuring the brilliant Argentinean Pianist, David Cesar Block. Tickets to the sold-out “ladies only” event, helped raise $10,000 for the Why Me? “Look Good, Feel Better” programme which provides wigs and other hair pieces, make-up, scarves and prostheses to cancer patients.

Five Islands woman turns 100

Nancy Ida Louise Fahie with governor-general’s deputy and surrounded by family and friends as she celebrated her 100th birthday this week.

Antigua’s first centenarian of 2009 came of age this past Monday.

Mrs. Nancy Ida Louise Fahie was born in Five Island Village in 1909.

She was presented with a special bouquet by Governor General’s Deputy Sir Eustace Francis when he visited her at her Gray’s Farm Road home, yesterday. He brought greetings on behalf of both the nation and Governor-General Louise Lake-Tack, who is currently overseas.

PM Spencer will launch the new People's Benefit Program

Making good on a promise he made to the disabled community, Prime Minister, the Honorable Baldwin Spencer, will shortly be launching the new People's Benefit Program, established to provide economic assistance to qualified disabled and disadvantaged citizens and legal residents of Antigua & Barbuda.

on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of the City View Hotel on Newgate Street.
