Jaycees Caribbean Queen 2010 to Become Caribbean Regional Ambassador

St John’s, Antigua (20th May 2010) – As plans continue to unfold into the production of the 49th Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show 2010 on Friday 30th July 2010 at the Antigua Recreation Grounds, the committee headed by Chairperson Brenda Albert has announced that they will be seeking to transform the crowned Queen for 2010 into a regional Caribbean Ambassador.

This initiative is a bold step towards fostering stronger ties within the Caribbean region the committee went on to explain. The 2010 Jaycees Caribbean Queen will be tasked with promoting the mission and vision of JCI (Junior Chamber International) and also advocating for greater levels of inter-regional travel among Caribbean islands. However her primary message throughout her reign of 2010 to 2011 will be spreading the word to sensitize the citizens of the region & its governments on the devastating effects of Climate Change on the region and how we as Caribbean people can combat, cope and negate these effects.

For those who may not be aware, the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show is not just a pageant; but actually a fundraiser project of the local JCI Antigua chapter to support community development projects of the organization. The pageant will be executed for 2010 under the theme of “Integrating the Caribbean through Pageantry – Embracing the Effects of Climate Change”, along with a stage decor theme of: “A Tropical Fantasy”.

It is anticipated that with much support towards and funds gained from the pageant, that the Queen will have sufficient fiscal support to implement her efforts in not only advocating Climate Change Awareness across the region but also executing related projects as such in Caribbean islands as well to counteract the effects of this ever looming environmental phenomenon as well. The committee is inviting any sponsors interesting in partnering with the organization in its initiative to come on board.

All are invited to follow the show and to witness its production as delegates from across the Caribbean compete for the coveted crown of Ms Jaycees Caribbean Queen 2010 and the chance to be the prestige Ambassador. So bring your family, tell a friend and support the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show for Antigua & Barbuda’s Carnival 2010.
