(July 15, 2010) Wadadli Vibes Promotions - WVP in collaboration with the Carnival Development Committee - CDC wishes to inform the general public that the show “Soca Fusion”, which was scheduled to feature acts as Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons & the Asylum band out of Trinidad, will now be incorporated into the LIAT Caribbean Melting Pot. This will be held at Carnival City on Wednesday 28th July 2010 beginning at 8:00pm
“Due to the current financial crisis and other factors, the CDC has expressed their willingness to allow the WVP Team to stage the Melting Pot show”, Chairman of the CDC, Vaughn Walter said. “Upon being informed of the position, our persistent desire to enhance the quality of Antigua’s Carnival propelled us to step up to the plate and come to a workable arrangement with the CDC for the successful staging of the event, which has become a favourite of the Carnival season for many”, principal of the Promotions team, Nelisa Spencer said. “The CDC is pleased at the initiative taken by Wadadli Vibes Promotions and we are excited about the lineup. The CDC fully endorses and supports the event and we are looking forward to an exciting show”, the Chairman said.
Due to certain contractual obligations, the event will be titled “LIAT Caribbean Melting Pot” as per usual but the Soca Fusion lineup remains with some additions. “We knew we had to step it up a notch to give a true melting pot feel to the show and so we have now added the Triple K band out of Dominica, G Whizz of “Life soon sort out” Fame, from Jamaica and other surprise artistes.
The show will also feature some local artistes and bands like Taxik, Tonik, Chezekake Factory and Burning Flames. MCs for the night will be Zugu from Zugulus Movements and Power 100.1 and Ibis the livest from Vybz FM and the house DJs will be DJ Charlie and DJ Jay.
General admission is $40 and tickets will be sold at the gate from 4:30pm on the day of the show. This year there will also be a VIP sections. The VIP ticket will allow persons to enjoy the party in a separate area of the venue with access to free premium drinks and finger foods. Limited VIP tickets for $120 will be available from next week and can be purchased from Mr. Gilbert Laudat at the House of Culture or from the promoters.
All persons who have purchased early bird Soca Fusion tickets can exchange the tickets at the booth on the night for general admission tickets or get a refund.
The promoters have promised to bring a “true party vibe” to Carnival City on the night and would like to join with the CDC and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
