Crystal Business Solutions is slated to hold a PRIVATE SECTOR forum on October 14, 2009 from 3:00PM to 7:30PM at the Multi Purpose Cultural Centre, Perry Bay and will specifically address the following areas - Economic Overview and the condition of the Private Sector, and the implications of the Government/fiscal policy on the economy.
CRYBS has canvassed segments of the Private Sector for participation in order to identify key strategies to improve the private sector’s productivity and stimulate growth. CRYBS sees it necessary for the private sector to hold this dialogue on the current economic situation impacting Antigua and Barbuda from this perspective, as the inter relation of factors on respective private sector businesses, an initiation of discourse on identifying key strategies, may strengthen the private sector’s profitability and stimulate economic growth.
Antigua and Barbuda is currently in the throes of what can best be described as a recession that has been impacting all aspects of the economy. The country is feeling the effects of a wider International recession combined with some local peculiarities which merged have occasioned a significant decrease in the demand for local goods and services. To date, public discussion and policy intervention has been largely led by the Antigua and Barbuda Government. The state of the local economy has been discussed primarily from a public sector perspective. Even measures to mitigate and allow for economic stabilization and recovery have all been viewed from the impact on government.
Leading up to the event, we will be undertaking a survey of business enterprises as part of the data collections process for information sharing. The survey will seek to gauge the respondent’s knowledge of the current business environment, the effectiveness of the various private sector organizations, and the ability of the private sector to be more responsive to the wider needs of the society.
All PRIVATE SECTOR businesses are invited to this important forum. For more information please call Crystal Business Solutions at 562-6368.
