The Budget Marine Valentines Regatta was a huge success despite the clouds and challenging sea's Saturday. We were able to have 4 races Sat and 2 on Sun. We would like to thank ABSAR for making sure we had a safe regatta. They did a great job. We had a good time at Foredeck Friday and Sunday. We also had a fantastic dinner at Alporto's Sat with music, dancing and a raffle that raised money for the JHYC youth sailing program.
We have a new sailing schedule for Saturday sailing. There will be 8 races per series(winter, spring, summer and autumn). The schedule works around other sailing regattas and events throughout the Caribbean. We will also have several weekend getaways planned by JHYC and AYC but all are welcome.
JHYC youth sailing program is going strong on Saturdays and is available to all Antiguan kids from age 8 to 18 . These are free lesson's. The kids are required to be able to swim 25 yards with a floatation's devise in order to participate. If the child cannot swim they well be taught first, free of charge.
We also have sailing lessons available for all others and adults on Sunday's for a fee of $50 EC.
We would like to thank all our sponsors who made donations for the raffle prizes that raised money for the JHYC youth sailing program.
