Plans In High Gear For Post Independence Seafood Fiesta

October 27, 2009… Plans are in high gear for the staging of the Post Independence Seafood Fiesta, set for November 8th at Urlings Wharf.

The seafood fiesta is staged with an aim to promote sustainable fishing in the fishing capital of Antigua, Urlings.

Visitors and residents will be attracted to mouthwatering seafood delicacy, fresh local seafood, live entertainment, children’s activities, boat tour and more.

November 8, is the day set aside for family fun and seafood feasting and is expected to draw more than 10,000 patrons from all walks of life.

Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Housing & the Environment Hilson Baptiste said the seafood festival is striving to become a rich tradition in Urlings where residents and visitors could get freshly prepared seafood.

He noted that, this, tradition is currently being built around a safe, family friendly environment showcasing the great seafood that Urlings has to offer while bringing people from all walks of life together in a festive atmosphere.

There will be live music, local seafood vendors selling delicious seafood treats, other, not to mention everyone’s seafood favorites, Lobster and shrimp.
