With over 20 knots of Warm Trade winds forecast for this Saturday’s Yachting World Round Antigua Race, a blast around the windward side of the stunning tropical island is a virtual certainty. 43 yachts will tackle the 55 nautical mile course and crews from over 20 different nations are set for a Caribbean thrill of a lifetime. Besides some truly awesome sailing conditions, crew will enjoy some spectacular views of Antigua’s mesmerizing coastline.

The RORC Easter Challenge, due to take place on the Solent over the first three days of the Easter Bank Holiday (6th-8th April), will offer crews a unique opportunity to jump start their sailing programs.

27 March 2012, English Harbour … President of the Antigua and Barbuda Yacht Workers Association (A.B.Y.W.A) said his organization is ready to accept the improved security, which, he emphasized is absolutely necessary in the light of the continued threats toward the livelihood of registered members, by illegitimate workers.

A wide range of individuals from the business and sporting community gathered at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa to witness the official launch of the Antigua and Barbuda Paralympic Committee on Thursday, March 15. Sprinting sensation Jamol Pilgrim was lauded as the nation’s only Paralympic athlete and Sir Vivian Richards who has been named as the organization’s patron, was on hand to commend the organization for rallying behind Pilgrim.

(St. John’s Antigua; March 19, 2012), Over 200 prominent Russian businessmen have converged on Antigua and Barbuda for the 4th Annual Russian Business Sailing Week which runs from March 17th to March 23rd 2012.
The event which is organized as an annual “getaway’ for Russian businessmen with the involvement of major Russian Business Media, has been organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, The National Parks Authority, The Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA), The Jolly Harbour Marina, and the Jolly Beach Resort.

15 March 2012, English Harbour –St. Pauls: Amidst heightened concerns about security for its members and the distribution of jobs to professionals in the yachting industry- new members were elected to the executive of the Antigua & Barbuda Yacht Workers Association (A.B.Y.W.A), during its annual general meeting, Wednesday night.

Associate member Ivor Jackson presided over the election process, which took place at the Catamaran Hotel & Restaurant.

Members turned out in their numbers to elect executives to the eight (8) positions on the board.
