Food And Rhythms Experience To Showcase Antigua’s Culinary Offerings

Antigua & Barbuda will give voice to its culinary soul as the US Tourism team launches the Food and Rhythms Experience (FARE).

This four-day tour will showcase the best in cuisine, cultural attractions and entertainment that the destination has to offer. Celebrity Chef Kevin Cottle from the Food Network’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and entertainers Sister Sledge known for their major hit We are Family, will be the guests of honor on the tour.

Ten top food and entertainment journalists and 10 travel agents from Travel Impressions will journey across the destination on an exciting dining tour.

Seafood Fiesta records another success

November 8, 2009 …It was indeed an event for the entire family. The Seafood Fiesta held at the Urlings Wharf got off to a “hot” start grills were fired up with lobsters; grabs, garlic bread; patrons dancing to the music, and children bouncing in the castle provided for them:

Highly Anticipated Seafood Fiesta Is November 8th

November 6, 2009…Organizers of the seafood fiesta, set for Sunday, November 8th, at the Urlings Wharf, are expressing their readiness.

Events Cordinator , Marcelle Freeland John said an action packed activity and entertainment schedule is already in place, which will encapsulate the entire family from 2pm –until.

She listed, among the line –up fishing and swimming competition, bounce castle, boat tours and a host of other activities.

Plans In High Gear For Post Independence Seafood Fiesta

October 27, 2009… Plans are in high gear for the staging of the Post Independence Seafood Fiesta, set for November 8th at Urlings Wharf.

The seafood fiesta is staged with an aim to promote sustainable fishing in the fishing capital of Antigua, Urlings.

Visitors and residents will be attracted to mouthwatering seafood delicacy, fresh local seafood, live entertainment, children’s activities, boat tour and more.

November 8, is the day set aside for family fun and seafood feasting and is expected to draw more than 10,000 patrons from all walks of life.

Antigua & Barbuda World Food Day Records Success

October 17, 2009… What began with the Director General of FAO speech, and media interviews culminated the World Food Day celebration with a number of recipients walking away with awards, for their outstanding contributions to the agriculture sector.

The theme selected for 2009 World Food Day celebrated on October 16, was “achieving food security in times of crisis”.

Approximately 80 persons within the sector were recognized for their contributions over the years.

Antigua and Barbuda Cuisine Promoted on Fox

Antigua and Barbuda’s food and entertainment took center stage at the first “About Great Taste Show” in Hartford Connecticut, which was held September 25 through September 27, 2009. On Saturday, Antigua and Barbuda received significant television exposure on FOX 61, as the Culinary EXPO was broadcast live from the Connecticut Convention Center.
