The Budget Marine Valentines Regatta was a huge success

The Budget Marine Valentines Regatta was a huge success despite the clouds and challenging sea's Saturday. We were able to have 4 races Sat and 2 on Sun. We would like to thank ABSAR for making sure we had a safe regatta. They did a great job. We had a good time at Foredeck Friday and Sunday. We also had a fantastic dinner at Alporto's Sat with music, dancing and a raffle that raised money for the JHYC youth sailing program.

The World's longest and most inclusive Relay Race will be in Antigua and Barbuda.

Coming March 13th - 14th, 2010 - The World's longest and most inclusive Relay Race will be in Antigua and Barbuda. An exciting event is being planned by the Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Association. A committee led by Mr. Leroy Ashton Williams and comprised of a wide cross section of members from the private and public sector is presently working hard on planning for the event. More details will be made available soon.

Antiguan Daniel Bailey maps out three meeting on his way to Doha

Antiguan super star sprinter Daniel Bailey has been confirmed for three indoor meeting, his manager Cubie Seegobin told World-Track on Friday.

Seegobin confirmed that the World Championships finalist will open his season at the 103rd Millrose Games in New York City on Jan 29, where he is set to match strides with American star Michael Rogers, before racing at the Boston Indoor Games a week later on Feb 6, where the pair could face off again.

The Championship, put on by ABCRA is the first of its kind in Antigua.

Andre Simon emerged the male winner and Shelly Chadburn the female winner in the first round of the National Canoe Championships at Runaway Bay on Sunday.

The Championship, put on by the Antigua and Barbuda Canoe Racing Association (ABCRA) is the first of its kind in the island. Simon came in at a time of 17 minutes and 20 seconds after the planned male’s 10k race was forcibly reduced following a rain induced delay. Shelly Chadburn came in at a time of 4 minutes and 49 seconds after the female’s 5k race also had to be shortened.

Antigua Sports Fishing to be featured on USA TV Network

(St. John’s, Antigua, 14th January 2010) A four member crew from the USA is currently on island filming a 30-minute feature on Sports Fishing in Antigua. Since arriving the crew from Bonnier Corporation has been out fishing every day at one of Antigua’s premier off-shore fishing spots; an area called South Bank situated 14 miles south of Antigua.
