Montserrat to host annual literary festival

BRADES, Montserrat -- From November 12-14, 2010, literary enthusiasts will come to Montserrat for the second annual literary festival, the Alliouagana Festival of the Word.

With the theme Discovering New Worlds Through Words, the three-day event will bring together acclaimed writers and readers from the Caribbean, North America, United Kingdom and Australia.

Confirmed speakers include award-winning poet and author Kwame Dawes as well as screenwriter and novelist Eric Jerome Dickey.

Church Affairs, Highly Anticipated First Novel by Montserratian Theo Semper Now Out

BRADES, Montserrat (August 31, 2010) – Struggles of the heart, faith and troubled pasts abound in Church Affairs, the debut novel by Montserrat native Theo Semper.

The Young Poet’s Society of Antigua and Barbuda launched

Our youth in Antigua and Barbuda are under tremendous fire, with the negative influences that exist in our society, more should be done to occupy their time positively. August Rush Productions is proud to introduce its newest programme, the Young Poet’s Society of Antigua & Barbuda (YoPoSAB). The purpose of this new initiative is to use poetry as a means of self-expression to help free the restless soul of our youth, while affording them the opportunity to define themselves through the individual creativity of their own words.

Antigua will host OECS Centre of Excellence for Hospitality and Tourism Training

Antigua & Barbuda will become the co-ordinating hub for hospitality and tourism in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) with the establishment of the OECS Centre of Excellence for Hospitality and Tourism training. Executive Director of Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) Calvin Ambrose said the proposal was finalised at an inaugural meeting of the OECS Tourism and Hospitality Task Force in St Lucia recently.
