Vanessa A. Williams gets the Barbuda Experience

(St. John’s, Antigua 26th July 2010.) American Actress Vanessa A. Williams who visited Antigua & Barbuda for a one week vacation paid a visit to the sister isle Barbuda compliments The Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority. Ms. Williams took the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the Honourable Senator McKenzie Frank at the Barbuda Council and undertook a tour of the island. The actress was hosted at the exclusive Lighthouse Bay Resort which is situated on Low Bay; the beach that was recently voted “Number 1 Beach in the Caribbean” by Caribbean World Magazine.

Ms. Williams’ busy schedule while in Antigua included appearing on breakfast TV, planting a tree at the Body Ponds Watershed, sightseeing and experiencing the local culture and cuisine. Ms. Williams was afforded VIP treatment when she was also hosted to a dinner at Carlisle Bay Resort by the Prime Minister, Dr. The Honourable Baldwin Spencer. Her visit to Barbuda was planned as the perfect ending to a busy week. “We could not have allowed Ms. Williams to leave without experiencing the tranquil beauty of Barbuda. Creating a greater awareness of Barbuda especially its eco-friendly attributes will help to build our tourism product.” Said Mr. Colin C. James, CEO, Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority.

Ms. Williams returned to Antigua via helicopter and was able to enjoy the breathtaking aerial view of the islands.
